Tour de Tunnel

Bike the wonderful Tunnel Hill State Trail starting in Vienna, Illinois (Routes: 10 miles, 20 miles, and 52 miles). See amazing sights, old railroad trestles, and even a 500+ foot train tunnel you can ride through on the 20 and 52-mile routes. This ride is presented by Revive Vienna.

NOTE: The trail is made up of crushed limestone and small gravel. Road bikes are typically not a good option. It is recommended to use a hybrid, mountain, or gravel bike.

The ride will start at 9:00 AM. Try to arrive an hour early to sign the waiver and get your t-shirt. We will let the 52-mile group start first, then after a few minutes the 20-mile group will start, and then after them, the 10-mile group will start.

The trail has two-way traffic – make sure you ride in a straight line to let others pass coming from the opposite direction. This is a ride not a race. This is not a timed event.

The ride is an out-and-back event. We will have signs telling you where to turn around for each mileage-based ride. There will be two SAG stops. One for the 20 and another for the 52-mile rides.

Please use caution at intersections where the road crosses the trail as vehicles may be passing over the trail.

Please wear a helmet and bring drinking water.
